Meet Dr. C. Edgar Davila

Dentistry, particularly prosthodontics, holds immense significance in my life. With a wealth of experience, extensive knowledge, leading-edge technology, and an exceptional team, we are fully equipped to assist patients with complex needs. I take great pride in our dedicated team of doctors and staff, who consistently go above and beyond to deliver the highest level of service.
The gratitude expressed by the patients whose quality of life we’ve improved is heartwarming.
Education
Growing up in Lima, Peru, I watched my father, a now-retired dentist, in practice. Seeing his ability to help people, and the positive changes that resulted from the care he provided, drew me to the field.
Originally trained at Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, I am a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. There I completed my Prosthodontic Residency and obtained a Master of Science in Oral Biology. Additionally, I completed a rigorous Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Center in New York. This was followed with a Maxillofacial Prosthetics Fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
As a Prosthodontist
I have been in practice for almost 40 years now, and cannot imagine a more personally or professionally rewarding career. I am especially proud of Tampa Advanced Dental Solutions and the team we have grown. Each person – from front office through our clinical and laboratory staff, as well as our doctors – is a consummate professional. Each is equally accommodating and compassionate and we are able to manage complex dental treatments on patients with complex needs. Together, we are dedicated to caring for our patients as individuals, respecting their unique concerns and finding solutions that comprehensively address their clinical and personal situation.
With each patient, I make time to listen, ask questions, and learn how best to serve them. I want people to know I care, placing their wellbeing and comfort at the forefront. In developing an individual’s treatment plan, I identify what I feel is best and explain why I think it is right. I also present alternative options, discussing the pros and cons of each, and thoroughly answering questions. People deserve to be educated, engaged participants in their oral health and I will not push someone toward making a decision that is not in their best interest.
This approach to prosthodontics has stood me well. I have had the opportunity to improve the quality of life of many people and, in turn, have received appreciation for the efforts of my team and me.

Beyond the Office
I’ve lived in Tampa for 30 years, sharing life with my wife, Martha. She is a high school teacher, and the best mom and partner in the world! She also helps in the practice as our marketing manager.
Martha and I have three incredible children of whom we are very proud: daughter, Dr. Alexandria Davila, a prosthodontist, started working in our practice in July 2023; son, Dr. Christian Davila, is also a dentist and will soon finish his specialty in Periodontics; and our baby, Vanessa Davila, is currently in dental school at UAB School of Dentistry. In addition to our love of dentistry, we are all pet lovers and have a dog each. Family comes first when we find time to be together.
I love Clearwater Beach, and am a percussionist with a group of friends who are also musicians. Martha is one of the main singers in our group.
Being part of the wonderful Tampa Bay community has been a joy. Believing in service, I volunteer with Florida Mission of Mercy and RAM. By helping the underserved, I play a role in making ours a healthier and happier community for all.
